Hexham Abbey
There has been a church on the Hexham Abbey site for over 1300 years. It forms the centrepiece of the town and the stunning attraction is a must for visitors.
The current Hexham Abbey dates from 1170–1250. The east end was rebuilt in 1860. The Hexham Abbey nave was reconsecrated on 1908 and in 1996 an additional chapel was to Hexham Abbey.
Hexham Abbey also currently boasts a number of choirs.
The Pr@ise Choir is made up of mixed children and adults and sings at morning service on the first sunday of every month in term time.

Hexham Abbey Directions:
From the A69 dual carriageway turn off towards Hexham. Proceed straight on at the first two mini roundabouts, passing Tescos on the right. Bear right at the next roundabout and turn left after 800 yards up Gilesgate. Head up Gilesgate in to Hexham Marketplace and Hexham Abbey will be on your right hand side.
