Welcome to Enjoy Hexham

Hadrian's Wall Country

The ancient Northumberland market town of Hexham is the ideal base to explore Hadrian's Wall and the Northumberland National Park.

The Tynedale district has thrived since the Bronze age, long before the Romans left us with a World Heritage Site - Hadrian's Wall. Hexham Abbey has stood for almost a millenium and the Gaol, built to imprison the 'Border Reivers', was the first in the British Isles, The many castles in Northumberland have seen conflict for hundreds of years between England and Scotland.

Today Hexham is widely regarded as the best place in Britain to live and is a popular base for exploring the outdoors. The Peninne Way through the Northumberland National Park and Hadrian's Wall are a mecca for walkers whereas fisherman flock for Tyne Salmon Fishing.
